The Power of a Letter

How often do you get a handwritten letter?  Never, right? Our society has lost the habit of writing letters, a simple little note, to others around us.  Receiving a handwritten note can have a great impact on someone’s day and shows that you care for them. Make it known to the person you are writing to that you are aware of what is going on in their life and how they are doing.   Handwritten notes generally have more thought and heart put in the process of writing than a text message or an email.

Written compliments have the power to uplift someone’s day.  A written compliment can go a long way. If you know or see that a friend is having a hard day, give them a caring compliment to help them feel better.  Saying something nice about what they are wearing or a certain action that is praiseworthy are two excellent examples of simple compliments that you can easily give friends and others around you.

It can be as simple as…

Dear friend,

Thank you for being such a caring friend.  I appreciate how you have helped me out. I admire how you always think of others first.  I hope you are having an awesome day!

                        Sincerely,

              Mel

Writing a thank you note is a very easy way to start, and it can lead you to so much more.  Thank you notes are super powerful!

I encourage you to write someone a note every week.  It may seem hard, but all it takes is a piece of paper, a pen or pencil and some thoughtfulness.  Keep it simple, use your heart and start writing!
